AJGA welcomes Imperial Headwear as Official Partner
Company with more than 100 years experience expands within golf industry
BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association is excited to announce a five-year partnership with Imperial Headwear beginning in 2019. Imperial will be the Official Headwear of the AJGA and promoted at more than 200 events per year.
Imperial Headwear is one of the oldest brands in golf. Founded in 1916, Imperial has been designing and manufacturing premium headwear for more than 100 years. Some of Imperial’s partnerships and affiliations include: USGA, PGA Tour, LPGA, Web.com Tour, U.S. Open Championships, PGA Championships, Open Championships, Ryder Cups, Solheim Cups, and dozens of State and Regional Golf Associations. Imperial also sponsors AJGA alumnus and current PGA Tour player, Beau Hossler.
“As Imperial continues to invest in the game of golf, we are proud to start our involvement with the AJGA and support junior golf at the highest competitive level,” said David Shaffer, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Imperial Headwear. “I am a proud alum myself and believe it played an important role in shaping my future, as well as the lives of thousands of junior golfers across the country every year.”
Shaffer credits the AJGA in helping him earn a scholarship to play Division I golf at Northwestern University, where he was a 4-Time Academic All-Big Ten. The Wildcats finished inside the Top-10 three times at the NCAA Championship and won three Big Ten Championships while he was on the team.
“We are thrilled to have Imperial’s support as an Official Partner of the AJGA,” said AJGA Chief Business Officer Jason Etzen. “We’re looking forward to expanding on their place as a strong supporter in the golf industry and we look forward to our membership and staff being outfitted with Imperial.”
Imperial Headwear will also assume the Title Sponsorship of an AJGA event each year. In 2019, the Imperial Headwear Junior Classic will be held August 5-8 at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware. In addition, Imperial and the AJGA will release a year-round social and digital media platform featuring a variety of the best elements and benefits of AJGA experiences through “the finer things in AJGA life.”
Imperial created a collection of limited edition AJGA headwear available for purchase on their website Imperialsports.com. A portion of the proceeds from the AJGA Collection will be donated back to the ACE Grant, which provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship through competitive junior golf.
